NOV is seeking a versatile and results-driven individual, with a problem-solving mind-set and a tactfully confident communication style, to join our Process Systems team as Sales Manager for the North Sea (and West of Shetland). The role is to be based in Aberdeen (UK) and will cover a client-base in Norway, Netherlands, Denmark & UK (travel required).
The Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving and exceeding sales targets by maximizing revenue and securing orders from both existing and new accounts in the region. You will use your experience and communication skills to maximize client engagement and increase the pipeline of opportunities across the region. This role will utilize your expertise in sales, engineering, and operational management to improve sales and tendering performance and exceed individual and business targets.
As the Sales Manager, you will develop and communicate tender action plans to external customers, aiming to establish and maintain NOV Process Systems as their preferred supplier of Technologies, Equipment, and Services for optimization of their production processes. You will work closely with NOV’s Tendering, Technical, Service, and Operational teams to ensure timely submission of high-quality proposals in alignment with client requirements and expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Revenue and Sales Growth: Develop and execute a North Sea sales and business growth strategy in collaboration with local and regional management teams. Focus on delivering year-on-year revenue and margin growth.
* Customer Experience: Facilitate a positive customer experience, consistently building and maintaining strong and lasting relationships with clients. Ensure the client’s objectives are understood and achieved as engagements develop through tender, projects, and lifecycle services. Drive continuous improvement through client feedback and lessons learned engagement.
* Sales Planning and Reporting: Maintain an accurate sales pipeline using the NOV CRM system and provide regular updates on sales activities, market developments, and key client updates to relevant teams.
* Market and Client Understanding: Align growth strategies and sales activities with customer buying processes, local legislation, and industry trends. Maintain awareness of competitor activities and significant market changes.
* Client Development: Build and cultivate relationships with both new and existing clients, sharing NOV’s capabilities, expertise and experience. Proactively identify and engage in industry events to enhance NOV’s market presence.
* Collaboration: Coordinate with various NOV facilities and departments to provide the best value to the customer and explore opportunities for inter-company partnerships. Identify opportunities to expand NOV’s scope in a way that provides enhanced value to the client.
Qualifications :
* Essential:
o HNC / HND in relevant technical subject, or sufficient Technical Experience in relevant industry.
o Over 3 years working in a technical, operational or project-related role in the upstream oil & gas industry, or over 3 years’ experience in a technical sales role.
o General understanding of the technical principles, commercial models and supply chain structure of the upstream oil & gas production industry.
* Desirable:
o Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering, Science or Technology.
o Over 5 years’ experience working in the upstream oil & gas industry, or over 5 years’ experience in a technical sales role.
o Knowledge & understanding of Topside Production Processing Equipment & Facilities.
o Experience in negotiating commercial deals for technology and / or equipment sales in any engineering-focused industry.
