Controls Engineer
Location: Northamptonshire, UK
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Car Allowance (£5,000)

We are working with an established System Integrator company based in Northamptonshire, UK, who are recruiting for a Controls Engineer to join their team.
In return for a salary in the region of £45,000 - £50,000 plus a Car Allowance of £5,000 along with excellent employment benefits.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Write PLC and HMI code to meet requirements of the system; test the code and commission it at clients’ sites.
2. Write the FS for projects as required and coordinate with colleagues within Engineering and Systems to ensure alignment of functionality and interfaces.
3. Work with the Project Engineering team to ensure full coordination of electrical, control, and mechanical part requirements and a complete integrated design solution.
4. Proactively work with Engineering, procurement, project management, and installations to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope.
5. Investigate and resolve any technical issues that are flagged within electrical design and PLC software systems.
6. Provide first line training/familiarisation to support team members for commissioned systems.
7. Support colleagues around the business in the execution of Client’s work, including attending customer meetings, customer sites, internal project meetings, and supplier meetings.
8. Ensure you meet all the requirements of the Client’s H&S and Quality Procedures in the execution of your work.
9. Keep developing yourself and your skills to ensure your technical skills remain current.

Desirable Requirements:
1. Formal Qualification in Electrical Engineering – preferred Degree, acceptable HND/HNC with suitable relevant experience.
2. Skills in Siemens PLC software writing and testing.
3. Siemens PLC software knowledge (TIA Portal) or a strong aptitude and willingness to learn this skill.
4. Problem Solving skills.
5. Solid understanding of automation equipment.
6. Good appreciation of 18th Edition, EN60204, and other electrical standards.
