Our Principal Consultant Robin Thomas, is looking for a highly experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join one of the UKs most respected precision engineering companies.
Our client services blue-chip clients across a broad range of sectors including Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport, and Robotics.
All out of their Hertfordshire based, high-quality engineering facility that offers a clinical and precise working environment, utilising state of the art machine tools and supporting equipment.
As a CNC Setter/Operator, youll join a well-established team of CNC Engineers, and have the chance to produce highly complex components that test your abilities on the cutting edge of machined componentry.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Day to day, youll be ensuring mills have minimal downtime, working efficiently to produce high precision components to drawing specifications, always keeping the mills in a clean operational condition.
1. Working from tooling information given by programmer
2. Setting Tools
3. Defining machine datums
4. Prove out new jobs
5. Editing machine offsets
6. Carrying out first off inspection checks
7. Maintaining machining tolerances
8. Interpreting engineering drawings
9. Collaborating with inspectors to ensure drawings tolerances are met
10. Self-management of workload to work efficiently
11. Working to 5S
Key Skills & Experience
12. 4 Years previous experience Operating CNC Mills
13. 4 Years previous experience Setting and operating
14. Background producing CNC components for motorsport, aerospace or similar industries requiring high standards
15. Operating Lathes and Mills
16. Good time keeping
17. Understanding engineering drawings
18. Carrying out first off inspection checks
19. Acute attention to detail
Preferred
20. Experience using Heidenhain controls and DMG Machines
21. Level 3 B-Tech Mechanical Engineering
22. NVQ Level 3
23. Apprentice Trained
