BACKGROUND
Won Connect CIC is a social enterprise that helps other businesses and organisations with their digital services as well as running personalised ICT and digital classes for clients. We are a community interest company which means any profit we make goes directly back into the community in the form of free IT classes and socialisation events for elderly and vulnerable adults.
ROLE
We're looking for volunteers to join our ICT team! In this role, you could help make a real difference in people's lives in local communities by helping protect older and disadvantaged people’s devices and data from fraud, abuse and other issues encountered online.
The ICT Tutor volunteer will be responsible for developing and delivering computer and technology-related courses to students. The tutor will provide a supportive and challenging learning environment, helping students acquire the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the digital age.
You will be working closely with the ICT team leader as well as from your own initiative, contributing in design, development and creation of Won Connect’s programme and plans.
Ideally, you'll be available to get involved for a minimum of 5 hours a week, with 2.5 hours to be the weekly team meeting. We’re looking for people with the right level of skills and experience who have some time on their hands to help us over the next few months so that we can ensure that what we present to the world in 2023 is educational, inspiring, fun and exciting. Skills You'll Need
No qualifications are required for this role! Though, we're looking for someone who's reliable, with a reasonable degree of English language and numeracy skills, patience and friendly and a genuine interest in computer and technology.
Travel Information
Orkney Street Enterprise Centre. 18 Orkney St, G51 2BX. There are regular buses and subway trains from the city centre and the office building is a 10 minute walk away from Govan's bus/subway station.
You must be over 16 years old. Applicants will be shortlisted. Accessible Expenses Paid.
This is a flexible opportunity and you will be required to agree when you can attend directly with the provider of the opportunity.
