Process & Pressure Systems Design to PD5500, PED, PSSR Complex gas system design, interlocks, working to nuclear safety cases, pressure regulations Mechanical Handling, Assembly equipment design. Pressure Vessels & Pressure Systems Testing & Trials. Interfaces & physical works management in accordance with design. Designing for Maintenance. Mechanical Handling - technical project management & managing small technical contracts. The Compliance Team This team is comprised of the Technical Authorities (TA) for anything from HVAC and Pressure systems to CE Marking. The TA’s are the experts in their field and are called upon from across the business to share their expertise and guidance, ensuring everything we do is safe and to industry standards. What will the Compliance Team want you to do? Producing designs in accordance with contract requirements Managing sub-contractor design input including requisitions, specifications, design and document reviews, and change control Ensuring all procedures are adhered to, including CDM, Risk Assessments, change control and specifications Working with internal and external partners to promote and achieve the Quality Management Plan objectives Supporting the Project Manager and Lead Project Engineer through design, construction and commissioning phases Coaching and Mentoring less experienced members of the team The Capital Engineering Delivery Team This area undertakes engineering assessment and design work in support of several key portfolios: Nuclear Risk Management – ensuring that the engineering assets supporting our safety cases are suitable and sufficient to protect our people and the public Design assessment of existing assets and identification of areas for improvement Engineering design for new assets and infrastructure, or for modification of existing installations What will the Capital Engineering Delivery Team want you to do? Lead other mechanical engineers within the team, providing advice and guidance Lead delivery of engineering and design tasks within assigned areas Interfacing with other disciplines, both technical and non-technical Estimating and planning mechanical engineering tasks Supporting the Engineering Manager in ensuring that the requirements are correct and adequate Ensuring that the design intent and configured baseline are maintained throughout the facility lifecycle What will you need to be considered for the above? A Degree, HND/HNC or an equivalent vocational qualification, in an engineering discipline supported by considerable practical experience, with or working towards professional registration Experience of preparing technical reports and documentation Awareness of Destructive and Non-destructive testing techniques for product certification and through life monitoring Awareness of the development, testing and evaluation of Engineering designs Good written, verbal and presentation skills Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) including configuration management and quality control A good understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act (HSAWA), Construction Design Management (CDM), risk assessments.
