The role of the Events Manager is to further the Estate’s plans for the development and growth of Thoresby Park as an events and outdoor activities destination. The role will report directly to the Executive Director.
The post holder will be expected to lead and deliver profitable and successful outdoor events across the Estate and will be line manager to the Events/Weddings Assistant. The successful candidate will also provide operational support and ensure coordination across the public-facing side of the estate.
Main Responsibilities:
* Being the primary point of contact for potential estate users, gaining an understanding of their requirements, assessing the viability and appropriateness of the proposal.
* Working with users to bring an event to fruition to include: set-up, delivery, and breakdown.
* Undertake administrative duties in relation to event information and documentation.
* Utilise IT systems for events bookings/diary.
* Develop and manage the profitable delivery of small events.
* Work with other members of the Events Team to deliver social media engagement and raise brand awareness while maintaining our reputation.
* Ensure compliance with H&S for all events on the Estate.
* Prioritise and work under pressure with multiple tasks and deadlines; ability to troubleshoot at very short notice, finding alternative solutions should unforeseen events occur.
* Direct line manager for 3 members of staff initially.
* Work flexibly within the Events team to provide support to other team members as required.
* Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post requested by management.
Requirements:
* Certificates held in Event Management or similar would be advantageous.
* Previous experience within a similar role is essential.
* Candidates must be prepared to work across weekend and evening events.
