As a popular and successful school, with a growing Sixth Form, we are always excited to strengthen our staffing team with an early career or experienced teacher.
The post will involve the teaching of Film Studies GCSE and A Level (Eduqas specification), and possibly some Key Stage 3 teaching of students in our personalised Arts pathway. All courses are well resourced with schemes of work already available.
We are looking to employ a well-qualified teacher with a record of delivering high-quality lessons with excellent student outcomes, or a recently qualified teacher.
For an exceptional, experienced candidate with a strong record of delivering exceptional outcomes and experiences for students, a Teaching & Learning Responsibility payment will be considered.
In September 2015, the school moved into an award-winning new building, where subjects are taught in specialist rooms or in our Sixth Form building, where Film Studies is based. The whole school team is very supportive, and expectations for students are high. We provide iPads for every member of staff to adopt in their teaching practice, and all Sixth Form students have been provided with one since September 2024. Not only have iPads further enhanced our excellent teaching and collaboration, but they have also provided new ways to manage feedback and assessment. For Film Studies, iPads also mean that A-Level students have access to a personal film and editing device, as well as our classroom set of Mac desktops and a fully featured green screen room and live editing suite.
Thomas Gainsborough School is a consistently high-performing, well-resourced, and truly comprehensive school, with a firm belief in excellence for each and every student, placing students at the heart of their curriculum. You can find out more about the school at www.tgschool.net.

Many of our staff work flexibly in different ways, including part-time working. For this role, we are open to discussing the possibility of reduced hours or flexible start and end times. Please talk to us at the interview stage about the flexibility you would like, and we will explore what’s possible for this role.
