Hours: 37.5 hours 8:30am to 5:00pm
Job Overview
Mitie at MOD Corsham are currently looking to recruit a Stores Operative to provide an efficient Stores and Clothing account. The role is within a section that is part of the Logistics department and will cover all areas that come under MOD Corsham!
Main Duties
1. Provide an excellent customer service, working in a customer-facing environment.
2. Ensure that assistance and resources are made available to meet all contractual requirements, this is via a walk in, appointment or Helpdesk booking service.
3. To assist in the control of PFI Furniture assets, involving the accounting, maintenance, receipt, issue and exchange of the assets in accordance with (IAW) current Contract.
4. Comply with site Health & Safety regulations including lifting, working at height & of various types of equipment.
5. The control of stores, involving the accounting, maintenance, cleanliness, receipt, issue and exchange of materiel in accordance with (IAW) current regulations.
6. Maintaining accounts in manual or electronic format (including MJDI (Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory)) IAW current regulations.
7. Ensuring that stores are secure at all times.
8. Maintain stores area in a clean & tidy condition.
9. Use of the forklift to support the operation.
10. Assisting with the loading & unloading of vehicles as required.
11. Escorting of visitors and contractors as required.
12. Responsible for the preparation and overseeing all Stock Checks IAW regulations.
13. Support all Inspections both Internal and External.
14. Arranging the disposal of surplus and unserviceable stores by the appropriate supply chain.
15. To act as a driver and or escort, to deliver and collect stores & freight.
16. Assisting other sections in the department as and when required.
17. Be prepared to do some cross training as required to assist the department and site.
18. Other reasonable tasks as directed by line management.
19. Must be self-motivated and have good time management.
20. The ability to work in a team and using your own initiative.
What we are looking for
1. Experience of working on an MOD site and Supply Systems (MJDI).
2. Full clean driving licence (able to Drive Cat B vehicle) up to a Luton van.
3. Experience using MS office software packages (Word, Excel and Outlook). Also good with databases and spreadsheets.
4. A good understanding of Health and Safety.
5. Excellent communicational skills and able to communicate effectively.
6. Must be willing to be forklift trained and attend both Military and civilian courses to support their role. Some of these will be away from site for 2-3 weeks.
Desirable
1. A good understanding of Military polices (JSP's) and procedures.
2. Knowledge of military ethos and hierarchy.
3. ECDL or similar qualification.
4. Good with dealing with problems and finding solutions.
5. Experience of working in a customer focused environment.
