As the Locality Housing Manager, you will report to the Housing Solutions Manager and manage the provision of operational locality housing teams in two town centres within North Lanarkshire, ensuring the housing needs of each town centre are met in accordance with council policy and national housing legislation, ensuring a high quality of housing provision and driving continual improvement in service standards. You will be responsible for leading the generic housing teams, regulatory compliance, public protection, homelessness and housing support for the locality. The Locality Housing Manager has a key role in progressing town centre regeneration and tower re-provisioning programmes within the locality, ensuring tenants and communities are supported throughout the programme. They are responsible for the long-term strategic planning for the locality to deliver the ambition to regenerate all town centres and tackle economic and social disparity across North Lanarkshire. You should have substantial relevant experience (more than 5 years) with at least 3 years experience of working at a senior level, managing relevant services and staff, preferably gained in a public sector environment, and have the ability to manage and review performance to achieve agreed objectives. You require the ability to manage complex operational service delivery processes, involving a range of stakeholders and policy objectives to ensure that housing services plans are efficiently implemented. You should have a track record of multi-agency working, working with regulatory bodies, and preparing and implementing local plans, and be able to demonstrate complex budget management, the ability to use management information systems and manage personnel functions. Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline with strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills, you should be committed to team building and customer care and you should demonstrate high personal drive and motivation to deliver housing solutions to meet the council’s priority outcomes. A leadership or management qualification and experience of risk management are desirable. The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal conviction check through Disclosure Scotland. It is a requirement of the post that you participate in the Out of Hours Homeless Standby Service Escalation Officer roster during evenings and weekends. Payments for periods of Standby will be made in accordance with the SJC Salaries Agreement.
