Focused. Encouraging. Honest. Being part of Skyscanner means joining a team hell bent on building the world's most innovative, and helpful travel experiences possible. We're daring and believe we have the chance to genuinely challenge and disrupt the industry. You'll play a key role in protecting Skyscanner against security risks and vulnerabilities by implementing ground breaking measures to minimise exposure to external threats. We will look toward your experience and skills to solve problems at scale. Whether influencing a roadmap to address a technical security hurdle and protecting our customers' data - you'll be empowered to engage and work cross-functionally. As a Security Engineer at Skyscanner, you will play a pivotal role in crafting our security roadmap, collaborating with various teams to implement robust security controls and policies. You will be instrumental in developing automation frameworks to scale protection and mitigation tools, and actively participate in incident response, ensuring cohesive and effective resolutions. Your role will also involve building internal security utilities, evaluating the impact of current security trends, and contributing to the adoption of standard processes in security engineering across the organisation. We are looking for someone with a growth mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of cloud-native security tooling and infrastructure (e.g., AWS WAF, Kubernetes). You should have experience with configuration and automation as code, security endpoint protection solutions, and intrusion detection. Knowledge of risk assessment tools, incident recovery methods, and the ability to plan and develop security policies and procedures is critical. Python knowledge in a cloud infrastructure-focused environment would be advantageous. If you are passionate about security, eager to learn, and ready to keep the traveller at the centre of all considerations, we would love to hear from you. Join us in our mission to protect Skyscanner’s data, systems, and employees while contributing to a secure and efficient operational environment. Skyscanner is a hybrid working company and most roles can be either Full Time or Part Time. We believe when people meet regularly in person, we are better able to innovate, learn, collaborate and inspire. We ask people to be in the office on average 8 days per month. Already a global leader in travel, we want to elevate the way we work to a whole other level. In return, you’ll get meaningful things like medical insurance, headspace subscription, a home office allowance and the option to buy more holidays. You’ll have the opportunity to work from any country for 4 weeks a year, and 30 days in our other global offices. Everything, in other words, to help you relax and give your best.
