Teacher - Folkestone site for secondary aged pupils in specialist classes
The Beacon is currently looking to appoint a talented and committed full time Teacher with the skills and drive necessary to engage and inspire secondary aged pupils with a range of learning needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed Teacher to work with pupils performing below age-related expectations. The role would suit an energetic and passionate practitioner who can engage with young people and continually focus on the functionality of skills to enable our pupils to thrive. Due to the needs of the pupils, this role would suit an individual who has the qualities and skills to deliver a creative approach to a primary curriculum with the desire to engage with a sensory small step approach to learning.
The successful candidate will either be an experienced and successful SEN teacher who enjoys team working and taking responsibility, ECTs who can demonstrate they are going to add to the school, or mainstream teachers who have a desire and passion to move to special needs teaching.
You will work as part of an experienced and highly motivated team, in a new and well-resourced environment. Our school values and ethos are focused on supporting individual pupils and classes to access learning in a purposeful and nurturing environment.
The Beacon provides a supportive and collaborative environment that is constantly seeking to develop and enhance the best learning opportunities for our pupils. This is achieved through a dedicated peer to peer coaching programme, self-reflection, and an ethos and culture where everyone is committed to school improvement. In addition, we place a high priority on professional and career development.
The benefits of working at The Beacon include:
* a comprehensive induction programme for all staff
* an established mentoring and coaching system throughout the school
* inclusion in the Teachers Pension scheme
* on-site parking
* on-site cafe
* wellbeing days
* extensive training
* confidential staff counselling service
* annual flu vaccinations
* employee Assistance Programme - free and confidential advice on a variety of subjects ranging from physical and mental health to financial help
The Beacon is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Please note that this position is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and two satisfactory references.
If you are interested in the position, then we would really welcome a conversation and a visit to the school where a member of the Senior Leadership Team would be pleased to spend some time with you. Please contact Katie Lonergan, HR Manager on 01303 847555 or email hr@thebeacon.kent.sch.uk.
