We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Engineer to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with our maintenance and production teams, providing technical support and assisting in the planning and execution of engineering projects. You will be involved in troubleshooting, fault-finding, and improving engineering practices to optimize operations across two sites. Responsibilities & Duties: Provide technical support to maintenance and production teams when required. Technical fault-finding. Assist in coordinating installation and commissioning activities for new and existing equipment. Improve and develop engineering practices within the maintenance department. Assist in preparing and executing project plans for new installations. Assist the maintenance department across two sites as required. Essential Criteria - 2 years previous experience working in a manufacturing environment ideally food manufacturing. Good knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation and quality standards HLA in an engineering related discipline. HND/HNC educated candidates will also be considered with relevant experience. Mechanical engineering design experience. Proficient in the use of AutoCAD. Experience of working with steam, compressed air, water distribution and effluent treatment systems. Previous experience within a fast-moving manufacturing plant. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with other departments to scope out prospective projects and agree on timings Exceptional time and people management skills as well as a talent for practical problem solving and solutions implementation The ability to prioritise and organise projects to ensure they meet deadlines and are delivered on time and on budget and to the highest standards of health & safety Capable of identifying problems, taking the lead on developing solutions and ensuring solutions are implemented Computer literacy to a high level A degree of flexibility towards working hours in line with business requirements Desirable Experience in managing a team Experience in staff training NEBOSH qualification Additional Company Benefits: Private Health Care Company health & well-being initiatives Pension scheme Skills: mechanical engineering excellent communication skills
