Our Oil and Gas sector client is actively seeking to hire a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer.

In this role, you will provide tactical support to the business to ensure satisfactory performance of client IT Infrastructure, resolving users' issues, delivering improvements to the system, and contributing to the review of current systems and new technology/software as the business maintains and improves the IT infrastructure, to ensure it is fit for purpose and robust from cyber threats.
You will support a multi-sited organisation, dealing with up to 180 users at all levels within the organisation.
Some travel with overnight stays to our other UK sites may be required; therefore, a full (preferably) clean driving licence is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure IT Policy is fully adhered to by users, monitoring systems and activities, and reporting to the IT Manager or Human Resources Director any suspected infringements.
2. Ensure management of change processes are fully adhered to for all changes proposed.
3. Monitor and ensure all security functions are enabled and up to date, to protect the infrastructure from cyber threats, and report immediately any issue to the IT Manager or the Finance Director.
4. Be a key contributor to the Business Services Team Performance Plan to support the team to meet the business and team objectives.
5. Administer and maintain the group infrastructure, business systems, and IT-related services.
6. Support the IT Manager in planning and implementing additions, deletions, and major modifications to the supporting group infrastructure.
7. Liaise with third-party software/hardware suppliers or maintenance suppliers as necessary.
8. Act as the escalation point for the OPA outsourced 1st Line Helpdesk.
9. Manage the ordering, configuration, and deployment of end-user IT hardware.
10. Produce technical implementation and recovery documentation.
11. Be part of the project team (in some instances be project manager as required for any IT projects to coordinate implementation, liaising with others where required).
12. Recognise actual or potential compatibility issues to resolve or avoid such issues.
13. Support one junior member of staff.
Experience/Qualifications Required:
You will need to hold a relevant IT degree/qualification or be qualified by experience. Qualified by experience is recognised to be 5 years or over in an IT Senior Infrastructure Network role, and able to demonstrate experience in a wide range of IT services to an organisation, either in a managerial position or can demonstrate your necessary management competencies and potential.
Knowledge/Skills:
1. Good understanding of cloud services (Hybrid Environment, Office365 and Azure would be preferable).
2. Good understanding of Exchange Online.
3. Working knowledge of SharePoint Online.
4. Extensive experience with Windows OS (10 and 11) and MS Server OS (2012R2/2016).
5. Endpoint Manager experience (Business Manager Microsoft Intune & MDM).
6. Experience with AD, DNS, GPO, File systems, Autopilot MDM & MAM / Endpoint Manager and Azure, Teams.
7. Desktop / Laptop experience.
8. External DNS management experience.
9. Experience liaising with 3rd party providers.
*You will live within a 45 minutes to an hour commute of Garelochhead.
