THE ROLE
As a Fluid System Engineer, you will support the following activities:
In terms of System design and system integration, you will:
* Produce, review and update the system documentation for the mechanical and thermo-hydraulic design, operator instructions, human machine interface, safety and environmental, control logic design, as well as periodic testing in compliance with engineering rules, methodologies, and quality processes.
For Instrumentation and Control, you will:
* Write Instrumentation and Control Functional Requirements,
* Write Detailed Functional Diagrams,
* Write Functional Test Platform Procedure specifications,
* Analyze the results of Functional Tests Procedure,
* Write I&C logic descriptions,
* Write alarm sheets, operating images, and operating modes.
For mechanical design, you will:
* Size components (e.g., pumps, pipework, pressure relief valves, tanks),
* Perform thermal-hydraulic calculation and modeling with in-house or commercial tools,
* Ensure the 3D model is consistent with the intended system design,
* Formulate equipment specifications and provide the data in respective databases or data sheets,
* Support the procurement team in formulating technical specifications for contract documentation,
* Support the procurement team in technical surveillance of supplier documentation.
* Analyze and verify input data, requirements, and lessons learned from other stations.
* Engage proactively with all stakeholders to ensure the delivery of a product meeting the requirements set by all disciplines.
* Contribute to topics around good practices, innovation, improvement of processes, and quality.
* Participate in experience-sharing activities within the discipline.
You will manage modifications related to the system, including:
* Managing requests for modifications to systems issued by various external parties by producing specifications and following the engineering cycle (I&C and/or mechanical design changes specifications),
* Analyzing and verifying the applicability of these modifications and challenging them as appropriate,
* Developing technical solutions and presenting them to stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
* Using the electronic Engineering Change Management tool.
You will support the System Coordinator for relevant building by:
* Producing and updating component datasheets for handovers with detailed designers,
* Producing and updating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams with all relevant design changes for handovers with detailed designers,
* Liaising with other stakeholders through participation at kick-off meetings and gate reviews relevant to the system.
This experience will provide you with the opportunity to move on to other projects in the medium term, tackling varied but complementary projects, studies, and technical topics.
REQUIRED SKILLS
* Relevant experience in the nuclear industry, in an operating plant or on an industrial site.
* Knowledge of EPR system design principles, Instrumentation and Control architecture, and Safety Classification.
* Knowledge of process design, nuclear system design, thermal-hydraulic calculation, and modeling.
* Continuously seeking opportunities to improve the quality of engineering studies and documentation.
* Ability to effectively manage your own workload to produce high-quality documents and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both written and orally, and develop positive working relationships.
* French-speaking and reading would be an advantage.
