An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's Security Team. The role will be based at the Aintree, Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen sites.
Working within a specialist team you will be responsible for assisting in providing a professional and effective Traffic Officer service tailored to meet the needs of the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust by:
1. Maintaining good order and preventing public disorder on all Trust sites.
2. Protecting patients, staff, contractors and visitors against acts of violence, aggression and abuse.
3. Protecting Trust property against loss, theft and damage.
4. Protecting property belonging to patients, staff, visitors and contractors against loss, theft and damage.
5. Maintaining Traffic routes throughout the Trust site.
6. Patrolling Trust Car parks.
7. Issuing notices or Breach of Contract (BOC) fines for any unauthorized Parking.
The post holder will provide emergency response to incidents on all Trust premises, de-escalate incidents of disorder, and maintain accurate written records of security incidents. Responsibilities also include:
1. Completing pocket notebooks to a recognized evidential standard for future investigative requirements.
2. Liaising with the Police as required, including the submission of statements and preservation of evidence.
3. Preventing the loss of property and carrying out preliminary investigations into losses to the Trust, staff, and patients.
4. Assisting with the secure movement of cash.
5. Patrolling the Trust sites as directed.
6. Responding to security systems, including alarms, and taking necessary action.
7. Instigating Police response to suspicious incidents.
8. Responding to Major Incident instigation in line with the Major Incident Policy.
9. Escorting lone workers or vulnerable staff where there is an identified risk.
10. Maintaining records of lost and found property incidents.
11. Operating a secure key register.
12. Monitoring the fire alarm system and investigating fire alarms.
13. Completing all mandatory training and undertaking any other training relevant to the post.
14. Answering all emergency telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner.
15. Delegating and prioritizing tasks to patrol officers.
16. Monitoring Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) for all Trust sites.
17. Reporting identified faults in security systems.
18. Providing guidance and facilitating access to the CCTV system for Police investigations.
19. Maintaining CCTV logs in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
20. Carrying out regular patrols of the Trust car parks.
21. Reporting incidents of unauthorized parking.
22. Assisting in regulating the movement of traffic and controlling parking on Trust property.
