Job Title: Tutor - English, Maths, and Geography
Location: Barnsley
Hours: 10 hours per week (Monday and Tuesday)
Salary: £25-£28 per hour
Type: Part-time, Temporary
Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Tutor to provide support a vulnerable student in Barnsley who are currently out of education. The role will involve teaching English, Maths, and Geography, with a focus on tailoring the lessons to the individual needs of the student.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in English, Maths, and Geography for students in need of academic support.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit individual learning styles and needs.
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students to help improve their educational engagement and confidence.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing feedback to both the student and relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for vulnerable students.
- Work closely with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for the students.
Requirements:
- Experience in teaching or tutoring English, Maths, and Geography.
- Ability to build rapport and work effectively with students who may have additional emotional or learning needs.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for helping students succeed academically and personally.
- Previous experience working with students out of education.
