We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Registered Dietitian to work within the Community Mental Health Team for Older persons across Hambleton and Richmondshire. The post holder would be supporting patients within their own homes and care homes to provide dietetic input, nutrition support, and weight management advice. Previous mental health experience is desirable but not essential as we can help develop your knowledge and skills, provide training, and support your progression in this specialist field of dietetics.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an active member of the Multidisciplinary team providing dietetic input to a range of patients with mental health conditions such as depression, psychosis, and dementia. This post also involves staff and student training, audit, research activities, and pathway development.

Qualifications
Essential
* B.Sc. (hons.) in Dietetics or postgraduate diploma in Dietetics
* Registration with HCPC
* Willingness to undertake the Preceptorship Programme and Competency Framework (within an agreed timescale)
* BDA Clinical Supervisory Skills course (or willingness to undertake within agreed timescale)
* Certificate in Food Hygiene (or willingness to undertake within agreed timescale)
* Willingness to undertake Trust training in Appraisal and Recruitment (within an agreed timescale)
* Numeracy, Literacy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)
Desirable
* Member of the British Dietetic Association and relevant British Dietetic Association specialist group
Experience
Essential
* Experience of working in a wide variety of dietetic practice areas whilst on student placements

* Experience of working with service users with mental health conditions or learning disabilities
