About the role The Senior Electronics Technician will provide support to staff and students for activities within the laboratory and workshop areas including: Supporting research activities and student competition teams both with practical assistance and suitable knowledge. Set up and preparation of defined experiments within the Electronic and Electrical Engineering degree programmes and provide support for these. Transfer their skills and knowledge to similar themes within both the department and faculty. Responsibility of preparation and support of teaching, project and lab based departmental activities. Provide technical support and design guidance to students and staff across the department and faculty and be responsible for setup and maintenance of related instrumentation and equipment. Act as laboratory custodian for a suite of research and teaching facilities. Supervision of student and research activities within these spaces. The Senior Electronics Technician will fulfil the duties described above while providing expert technical guidance and support to staff and students across the department and faculty in the design, construction and testing of electronics systems. The Senior Electronics Technician will also work closely with academic colleagues on the content and delivery of practical teaching elements within the undergraduate (UG) and taught postgraduate (PGT) programmes. They will provide guidance and support to UG and PGT project students. This is being offered as a full-time, open-ended position.
