Behaviour Mentor/Learning Support Assistant Great team environment, great rates of pay £100 to £130 depending upon experience Newbury area, immediate start, permanent position available for the right person We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a special needs school in Newbury. This role offers a temporary to permanent opportunity for the right candidate, providing a chance to make a significant impact in the lives of students with special educational needs. Day-to-day of the role: Work closely with students who have behavioural challenges, providing one-to-one support and group interventions. Implement behaviour management strategies that are effective and promote a safe learning environment. Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create behaviour plans that address individual student needs. Monitor and record student progress, adapting strategies as needed to facilitate positive behaviour and engagement. Participate in training and development sessions to enhance your skills and understanding of best practices in behaviour management. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in a similar role, preferably within a special needs education setting. Ideally SEMH or ASC but it's more about what you can offer in terms of life experience and your personality Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies tailored to children with special educational needs. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents. A proactive and patient approach, with a commitment to positively impacting the lives of students. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
