The Department of Statistics at the University of Oxford is seeking applications for the post of Associate Professor of Statistics. The successful candidate will also be appointed to a Non-Tutorial Fellowship at Jesus College.
The Associate Professor will join the dynamic and collaborative Department of Statistics, which carries out world-leading research in statistical and population genetics, bioinformatics, core theoretical statistics, computational statistics, machine learning, and probability. This is an exciting time for the Department, having recently relocated to an extensively-renovated building in the centre of Oxford, enhancing our vibrant research environment with state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and research.
The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in the field of Statistics or a related subject. They will be an outstanding individual who is, or has the potential to become, a leader in their field. The postholder will have the skills and enthusiasm to lecture at undergraduate and graduate levels across a wide range of topics within Statistics and to supervise students. They will become the academic lead for the Department’s MSc in Statistical Science, carry out and publish original research, secure research funding, and engage in project management and knowledge transfer activities.
The appointee will be based at the Department of Statistics, 24–29 St Giles’, Oxford, OX1 3LB, and at Jesus College, Turl Street, Oxford, OX1 3DW.

The postholder will receive a salary on a scale from £45,562 p.a. plus additional benefits including start-up funding of £10,000, and college benefits. An allowance of £2,655 p.a. would be payable upon award of Full Professor title.
