Do you have a passion for a subject and a desire to make a difference in young people's lives? Our Certificate in Education (Cert Ed) and PGCE programs could be the perfect starting point for your rewarding career in teaching in Further Education!
If you are a graduate or have industry experience in the following areas you could be eligible to apply for a FE Bursary to support your studies:
Computing, Engineering or Manufacturing, Mathematics, Science including Biology, Chemistry or Physics, English or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The Department for Education FE (Further Education) ITE (Initial Teacher Education) bursary funding 2025 to 2026 is available for the following subjects.
Subject Bursary
Engineering (and/or manufacturing) £31,000
Science (including biology, chemistry, and physics) £31,000
Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) £15,000
Bursary payments will be paid in equal monthly instalments over the duration of the course and are dependent on the individual completing the requirements outlined in the FE Bursary guidance. For further details on the FE bursary scheme click here.
The bursary funding is a limited fund and is available on a first come first served basis therefore is not guaranteed. We advise applying as soon as possible to ensure you have the best opportunity to obtain funding.
What will you gain?
* Develop the skills and knowledge to become a qualified teacher (QTLS status).
* Gain real-world experience through placements in an education setting.
* Learn from passionate tutors and experienced practitioners.
* After you have qualified, opportunity to apply for vacancies to start your career at Luminate Education Group.
* Course options: Full-time (completed in one academic year) or part-time (completed in two years).
* Full-time: Primarily on placement (3 days/week) with university sessions (2 days/week) after October half-term. Initial block of university sessions before placement begins.
* Part-time: Evenings (1 day/week) for university study, with recommended placement time (1-2 days/week).
* Work Placement: Complete 150 teaching hours and 100 additional teacher training hours (meetings, parents' evenings, etc.) throughout the course. Receive valuable feedback through 8 lesson observations.
