We are seeking a Senior Dosimetrist with extended knowledge in radiotherapy planning, who is eager to promote and employ exemplary standards of health care for our patients. We are at an exciting point in our journey, expanding our capabilities with two new Elekta Evo linacs and our third MRIdian MR linac, as well as transitioning to the RayStation planning system. You will be joining our professional and diverse team, with 29 dosimetrists and 31 physicists from 20 different countries around the world.
The Role:
As a Senior Dosimetrist with us, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, and Medical Physicists to plan and deliver radiation therapy treatments. You will be responsible to ensure for the accuracy and precision of radiation treatment plans based on patient diagnosis. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact and develop your career.
What You'll Do:
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists and Physicists to optimise radiation treatment plans.
* Ensure radiation dose distributions are obtained according to prescribed plans while adhering to safety protocols.
* Conduct imaging and dose verification to ensure accurate treatment delivery.
* Assist in developing treatment techniques for complex cases, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
* Take overall responsibility for the treatment planning service at their centre working closely with the local Medical Physicist, Lead Radiographer and Centre Leader.
* Supervise the work of other dosimetrists in their centre as appropriate.
* To liaise with their cluster GCUK sites and the wider network to coordinate treatment planning activities and ensure all patients follow the most efficient pathway.
* Manage the delivery of the patient dosimetry and treatment planning service on site to ensure all plans and patient dosimetry tasks are completed without delay.
* Foster a supportive and collaborative environment.
What You'll Have:
* A qualified dosimetrist either HCPC registered Radiographer or on Clinical Register of Technologists.
* Strong knowledge of radiation therapy principles, treatment planning, and dose calculation.
* Attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Aware of relevant legislation, national standards, professional and other guidelines e.g. IR(ME)R
* Able to communicate complex information across professional boundaries.
* Empathy combined with a decisive approach.
* Skills in operational execution, with a strong desire to implement improvements and best practices.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
