IPS is hiring! We are looking for a talented Construction Manager to join our EMEA Project Delivery and Construction team, located in Birmingham UK.
The Construction Manager leads construction site activities, manages all field operations and takes primary responsibility for site safety.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Assumes primary responsibility for all activities on assigned construction sites.
* Leads field personnel to meet project goals, ensuring achievement of safety objectives on assigned projects.
* Ensures achievement of corporate goals for assigned projects and applicable quality requirements.
* Manages client interactions at site and promotes positive relationships.
* Develops working knowledge of prime contract requirements and applies knowledge to project activities.
* Supports the Project Manager in the development and maintenance of preconstruction, construction and closeout execution plans.
* Develops a working knowledge of the project budget, identifies exceptions to the project budget throughout execution, and supports the Project Manager in monitoring and reporting project costs.
* Supports the Project Manager in the development of change control documentation and related financial documentation.
* Develops a thorough understanding of contractually required quality in design and construction, overseeing subcontractors to ensure compliance.
* Participates in constructability reviews of design documents.
* Supports procurement and coordination of all required extracorporate project resources.
* Facilitates communication between subcontractors, vendors and project personnel, leading and coordinating the RFI process.
* Conducts periodic site inspections and evaluations, completing daily reports of site conditions.
* Completes job safety analysis documentation as required by corporate safety program.
* Conducts periodic coordination meetings with trade subcontractors at site.
* Accumulates, evaluates and presents feedback information regarding errors and omissions in construction documents.
* Supports compliance of project activities with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Oversees startup and commissioning activities if included in the project scope.
* Supports Project Managers in the preparation of proposals, presentations and other sales and marketing documents.
* Maintains personal competency in relevant professional areas.
* Special Projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree.
* Extensive experience in Construction Management.
