Do you have experience in supporting children/young people on a one-to-one basis and looking for some flexible work?
We are looking for an intervention tutor to work directly with children and young people to help them meet academic criteria alongside their peers. The role involves encouraging pupils outside of mainstream settings, specifically in and around the Northampton area - NN1, NN2, NN3, NN4, NN5, NN6, NN7.
This academic tutor role involves providing informative, engaging sessions face-to-face with children at their homes or often in a community-based setting (e.g., a local library).
What to expect from this role?
* You will be planning resources tailored to the child’s needs, likely focusing on developing their knowledge in core subjects such as Maths, English, and Science.
* Resourcing engaging and creative lessons to help pupils catch up in their learning.
* Managing and implementing different behavior strategies and coping mechanisms, as the pupil may have behavioral needs that need to be addressed.
What are we looking for in a tutor?
* Experience working with children or young people.
* A QTS or at least a minimum of two years of previous teaching experience.
* A range of behavior management and coping mechanisms.
* Able to plan and deliver engaging core and cross-curricular sessions.
* Applying skills to help pupils get their education back on track.
* Monitoring that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and providing feedback.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
