About the role: Diversity and Inclusion Manager Activate Learning has an aspiration of becoming a more inclusive and diverse employer, creating a workplace environment that will allow us to attract, recruit, develop and retain the very best people at all levels. We are looking to appoint an D&I Manager (maternity cover) to continue to drive and promote our EDI strategy across the group. We want all our staff to feel valued, accepted and supported to succeed at work no matter their background, identity or circumstances and together we will create an inclusive culture. The D&I Manager is a key role within a supportive group HR team aimed at embedding equality, diversity and inclusion into everything that we do. You will advise, shape, deliver and lead on Diversity and Inclusion solutions to improve all aspects of equality, diversity and inclusion, with the aim of addressing the under-representation of staff with protected characteristics across the Group. This is a fixed term, full time, maternity cover role and can be based at any of our campuses in Oxfordshire, Berkshire or Surrey. What do you need to be a successful Diversity and Inclusion Manager? You will bring substantial relevant experience of working in a role that encompasses equality, diversity, and inclusion in a multi-cultural organisation. In addition to this we would look for an understanding of relevant statutory provision and proven experience of interpreting, assessing, and implementing Equality legislation. You will have a sound understanding of the issues, challenges, and opportunities in relation to equality and diversity locally, nationally and ideally within the education sector. You will have a track record in managing change and implementing projects, campaigns and initiatives to drive forward the EDI strategy through training, group facilitation, briefings and events to raise cultural awareness and an inclusive mindset. Your energy and enthusiasm will foster strong internal stakeholder relationships, and you will be confident to actively engage with leaders and employee resource groups to implement D&I initiatives, measuring the impact of such initiatives and providing thought leadership and sharing best practice in inclusive workplaces. You will be an excellent communicator, comfortable with presenting to a range of stakeholders, managing and reporting on data, providing informed recommendations and facilitating staff equality networks. Strong organisational skills will allow you to manage multiple streams of activity with varying priorities.
