Consultant / Senior Consultant, Heritage and Townscape
Turley Heritage, Townscape & Landscape is growing. Be part of the team that has delivered some of the most high-profile, diverse, challenging and interesting projects in the towns and cities of the UK.
Location: London
This is an excellent opportunity to join a diverse and friendly team at a time when the team is continuing to grow, developing new fields of work, and enhancing skills and experience across disciplines. The position is based in our London office and involves working on a wide variety of project types across the UK, for both prestigious private and public sector clients.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Consultant/Senior Consultant to join our team and help deliver a wide range of diverse and exciting projects. In this role you will:
* Lead and collaborate on varied projects; analysing and advising on a range of built heritage and related townscape/visual considerations; and assist Directors and/or Associate Directors with the delivery of larger and more complex projects.
* Produce robust and well-considered Heritage Appraisals, Heritage/Townscape Statements and ES Chapters for a range of diverse development projects.
* Actively contribute to and progress with business development activities and client relationship management.
* Collaborate with the wider team and company strategies and initiatives aligned with personal interests.
About You
Sound commercial judgement and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. You should have experience in assessing significance and setting, and possess a strong understanding of the English planning system, with demonstrable experience of applying the relevant legislation, national and local planning policy and guidance for the historic environment. You will be able to proactively manage your own workload and deliver exceptional client service within a fast-paced consultancy environment.
Experience of townscape assessments and reporting, using GIS and graphics support work would be a further benefit to these roles. At the Senior level, you will have experience of profile raising and winning work, and of managing small to medium scale projects; alongside a greater role in financial stewardship.
IHBC membership or another relevant professional body would be preferred.
