Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Team Lead
Location: Barrow – On Site
Salary: Circa £56,000
What you’ll be doing:
* Lead and manage the Manufacturing Engineering Steelwork Build definition team.
* Manage the Steelwork Build definition outputs to deliver the manufacturing detail supporting the build strategy for Dreadnought.
* Continually develop the team integrating with other Manufacturing Engineering teams to maintain alignment of Build Strategy, Definition, MI’s, MBoM and routings.
* Working collaboratively with Engineering design & Quality control functions to ensure effective application & maintain design intent.
* Act as the Manufacturing Engineering SME in Steelwork providing technical support and ME approval of engineering change across the platform build
Your skills and experiences:
* HNC or above in a Manufacturing discipline
* Able to Manage and lead small teams and projects as a Team Lead
* Experience within heavy industry Steelwork manufacturing and construction methods, technical or physical application.
* Experience and full understanding of supporting documentation, specifications & standards around steelwork manufacture
* Ability to produce and present documentation to stakeholders on behalf of Manufacturing Engineering
* Background in build planning/ build strategy/build definition

The Manufacturing Engineering – Build Definition Steelwork Team:
Working closely with cross-functional colleagues, you’ll be joining and leading within the Dreadnought project in a small, but developing team, which specialise in optimisation of the build strategy and projection capability. You will be engaging with key Stakeholders across the business and directly supporting the progression of a multimillion-pound defence project. There will be opportunities for you to progress and develop your yourself to build a lasting career with BAE Systems.
