Job Summary:
You will work in the Patient Services (Reception) department as part of the Broadmead Medical Centre Reception Services team.
You will receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or clinician in a courteous, efficient and effective way, projecting a positive and welcoming image to patients, other visitors, and members of the Practice team.

Main duties of the job:
1. Answering the telephone within agreed timescales with a professional and pleasant manner.
2. Dealing with patient queries both personal and via the telephone accurately, efficiently, and effectively.
3. Registering patients on the clinical system whether they are a regular, immediately necessary, temporary resident, or private patient.
4. Accurately taking messages, including patient details, specifics of the message, and conveying the message to the appropriate person using the most relevant and quickest form of communication.
5. Signposting and prioritising patients in line with appropriate training.

Person Specification:
Essential:
* Experience of working in a front line customer care role.
* Experience of Administration and record keeping.
* Good written communication skills, with the ability to draft professional emails and documents.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional approach when dealing with co-workers, managers, and external contacts.
* Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage a varied workload.
* Competent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook).
* Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry, document management, and record-keeping.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in a professional manner.
* A flexible, proactive approach, willing to learn and work as part of a wider team.
* Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).
Desirable:
* Experience of using EMIS web computer software.
* Experience of prescription administration and/or experience working in a numerate capacity.
