Job Title: CNC Miller Programmer - Fanuc
Location: Coventry
Hours: 7.30-4.30 Monday to Thursday, 7.30-12pm Friday
Pay Rate: £36,000 - £38,000
Overtime: up to 10 hours a week available at X1.5 rate
Our client is looking for a competent Milling CNC Programmer / Operator to use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions.
You will be a highly skilled professional, able to work with great concentration and precision. You must be responsible and comply with all safety guidelines. A keen eye for detail and great mechanical aptitude are also essential. The goal is to produce high quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform the right operations.
The company is going through exponential growth at present. They produce one-off development components along with the design and build of special purpose machines. The emphasis is very much on quality over quantity.
Responsibilities
1. Programme and operate CNC vertical machining centres
2. Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading mechanical drawings and specifications
3. Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
4. Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
5. Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
6. Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts
7. Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
8. Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
9. Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
10. Comply with all in-house procedures
Requirements
1. Proven experience as CNC programmer/operator (FANUC controls essential)
2. Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
3. Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
4. Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM (preferable)
5. Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
6. A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
7. Good communication abilities
8. Certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline would be beneficial
9. Available to work weekends and overtime
10. Ability to work independently
11. Should have a positive and professional attitude
