Job Overview:
The Onsite Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer will oversee all electrical and instrumentation aspects of a subsea cable factory project. This involves coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance and safety meet project specifications and industry standards.
Main Responsibilities:
* E&I Design Coordination: Manage the implementation of E&I design works in line with project requirements.
* Quality Checks: Inspect and evaluate electrical and instrumentation installations for compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Troubleshooting: Provide on-the-spot technical support to resolve electrical or instrumentation issues, coordinating with engineering teams and contractors to minimize delays.
* Documentation: Maintain thorough records of calibration data, technical reports, system modifications, and compliance certifications. Communicate progress and issues to the Project Manager.
* Safety Protocols: Conduct regular safety checks, risk assessments, and enforce safety protocols for all E&I activities. Educate on-site teams on electrical and instrumentation safety practices.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum 5-10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering within industrial or construction environments, preferably with hands-on site experience.
* Certifications: Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH or specialized instrumentation and calibration certifications are advantageous.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in E&I design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, PLC programming tools), knowledge of calibration, electrical codes, process automation, and instrumentation controls.
* Soft Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Other Requirements: Valid driver's license and flexibility to work on-site.
Salary:
£80,000 - £120,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
