About the role: Property & Environment Team Leader As a vital member of the Property and Environment team, you will play a key role in overseeing all maintenance and operational activities onsite. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective delivery of a fully serviced and supported building, fostering an environment that is safe, compliant, and stimulating for staff, students, and visitors alike. This includes managing day-to-day operations, addressing maintenance issues promptly, and upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance. In your capacity as a Team Leader, you will also take on the responsibility of line-managing the Property and Environment Officers across Guildford College and Farnham College. This will involve providing guidance, support, and development opportunities for your team, ensuring that they can perform their roles effectively and contribute to the overall success of the department. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Property and Environment Manager to align on strategies and priorities. Flexibility is key, as the role will require travel between campuses to support operations and ensure consistency in service delivery across campuses. This is a full-time, permanent position (1.00 FTE) supporting across Guildford College and Farnham College. What do you need to be a successful Property & Environment Team Leader at Activate Learning? You will bring proven experience in operating and managing a site in compliance with established health and safety standards and estates management policies. A strong understanding of facilities management operations is crucial, with a particular emphasis on the efficient administration and support of frontline services. This includes ensuring that all site operations run smoothly and align with organizational policies and objectives. Your supervisory skills will be a key asset, enabling you to effectively oversee team activities, delegate tasks appropriately, and maintain a collaborative and productive work environment. The ability to inspire and guide your team toward achieving shared goals is essential. Confident and proactive, you will be ready to step in and take the lead when needed, providing clear direction and support to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
