The business world is playing an increasingly crucial role in their mission to save nature. This comes in the form of funding vital work to save habitats and species, driving change within their own business practices to scale action for nature and become advocates for a nature-positive future.
The role will deliver strategic communications and PR for their corporate partnerships and business engagement efforts. Working as part of a busy communications team, you will be responsible for helping to deliver impactful communications that ensure their corporate partnerships are positioned effectively and positively with key audiences whilst also helping to build sector-specific thought leadership.
The role will ensure that the charity’s Business Engagement team’s work is strategically communicated to the public, business leaders, and key stakeholders. This includes leading the PR and communications planning for partnerships with key businesses like Tesco, Co-op, and other potential partners, aligning with our goals to grow income and advocate for nature-positive business practices.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that the charity's business partnerships not only generate income but also advocate for positive change in business practices to support nature and climate objectives.
What they are looking for:
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
1. Proven experience in PR and communications, ideally within a business engagement or corporate partnership context.
2. Strong understanding of business communications, particularly in sectors related to nature, sustainability, or climate.
3. Experience in developing and delivering strategic communications and PR campaigns.
4. Excellent media relations skills, including writing press releases, managing media engagements, and developing opinion pieces.
5. Ability to translate complex issues into clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences.
6. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
7. Collaborative and able to work effectively within a matrix structure across different teams.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
1. Knowledge of nature conservation, sustainability, or environmental advocacy.
2. Experience in business-to-business communications or working within a corporate partnership team.
3. Experience in managing communications in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
