Job Role: EHS Advisor - Environmental Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Rotherham
Shift: Monday to Friday, Regular Days. Permanent.
Salary: Salary up to £55,000 per annum dependant on experience

Job Duties:
1. Assist with location fatality prevention efforts including helping to lead deployment and execution of key fatality prevention elements and coaching location leaders.
2. Develop and maintain processes and methods to ensure compliance to regulatory and company environmental requirements is achieved.
3. Partner with location leadership to develop and implement injury prevention strategies and provide leadership and technical expertise to proactively address injury reduction efforts.
4. Assist with the facility's industrial hygiene program including execution of IH sampling plans, the administration of IH databases and employee exposure records, hazardous material management, ergonomics oversight and serve as the radiation protection technical resource.
5. Provide technical expertise and participate in injury/incident investigations to assist in identifying root cause analysis and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
6. Lead location human performance process.
7. Coach and counsel departmental leaders in the execution of their EHS accountabilities.
8. Partner with location leadership to deliver EHS objectives.
9. Lead and assist with other EHS accountabilities.
10. Work closely with operational teams providing Health and Safety support.
11. Drive a positive Health and Safety culture throughout the wider business.
12. Maintain Environmental compliance.
13. Motivate the current leadership team and lead by example.
14. Make changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation.
15. Undertake incident investigations and implement preventative measures to avoid similar incidents repeating.
16. Challenge unsafe practices and enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance at all levels.
17. Assist in preparing and developing health, safety and environmental strategies and policies.
18. Liaise with Regulatory bodies including the Local Authority and the HSE.
19. Assist managers in carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced.
20. Carry out regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
21. Keep records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements.
22. Keep records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers.
23. Keep up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all relevant legislation and any developments that affect the industry.
24. Produce management reports, collate data, and update weekly reports.
25. Maintain register of first aiders and ensure that training is carried out as required.
26. Liaise with the Occupational Health provider to ensure all employees attend the correct and required assessments and reviews.
27. Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures in the event of fire or other emergency situations (including environmental).
28. Ensure that the collection, transport, and disposal of all waste streams is controlled in accordance with the relevant environmental regulations.
29. In conjunction with the Engineering Department, ensure that all new buildings, plant, processes or equipment and the re-siting of plant, processes or equipment conform to the relevant Health and Safety rules and regulations.
30. Provide support to all leaders and operators as and when necessary.
31. Undertake periodic risk assessment reviews of processes to drive risk reduction.
