Purpose: To effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the Depot, whilst developing and delivering a sales strategy in line with business objectives with an emphasis on quality, profitable new business.
As a key influencer across the Lynch team this role will help implement and embed the company vision and behaviours across all that we do. Reporting Lines: You will report into the National Operations Manager
Focus areas of the role: The success of the role will be measured against the effective implementation of the following focus areas:
* Provide strong, inspirational leadership which role models the company' values and maintain high standards within your depot
* Achieve/exceed budgets through development of existing and new client relationships
* Meet targets and requirements on sales, profit, stock availability and utilisation, stock loss, debt, payroll, costs, customer satisfaction, branch standards, maintenance, safety and security
* Drive improvement in operational efficiency by reviewing branch performance and carefully managing schedules, resources and cover
* Ensure compliance with all systems, procedures and processes, so that company information and customer invoices are accurate and complete
* Actively work to implement all proposed change and business initiatives so that they are delivered right first time
* Manage the day to day compliance of the department
* Ensure a high level of service and maintenance is achieved through working closely with the service department and drivers
* Liaise with customers on a daily basis to ensure deliveries and collections of plant are to their expectations taking into consideration access and time restrictions
* Work with Transport/Haulage compliance manager to improve timely accident reporting to the insurance department. Ensuring all legal requirements are followed
* Work with Head of Transport and Administrator to effectively manage tachograph and daily defect compliance
* Use knowledge of local market, competition and customer to influence the way we do business and to recommend what is right for our staff and customers
* Agree targets and monitor people's performance so they feel valued and genuinely drive improvement in performance and compliance
* Manage cost centre and payroll expenditure within budget
* Improve the capability of our people through professional recruitment and training
* Support regional network changes so that continued and seamless service is experienced by our customers
* Focus the branch staff on sales and profit growth, authorising deals which generate the required income levels
* Maintain a high frequency and quality of communication, so that all your people are aware of the company vision, relevant plans and targets and our performance against them
* Visit key customers
* Encourage and demonstrate teamwork with the sales team to provide a high standard of service and a positive response to customer queries
* Champion HSQE, to safeguard the business interests and all of our people and customers
* Operational KPI's kept in line with the company's expectations
* Overseeing any troubleshooting, challenges and requirement on each project are communicated with customer, foreman and office
* Ensuring all machines and operators are fully compliant, keeping down and faults to a minimum
* Eco-driver and lowering fuel usage on each project. A monthly benchmark report from each supplier to ensure idling and fuel usage is kept to a minimum and work with National Training Manager to ensure all foreman have a full understanding of Regen and shutdown procedures for each manufactured plant. This is then to be consistently communicated to operators

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Knowledge of plant machinery
* Relevant experience within plant and/or the construction industry
* Experienced manager
