Job summary VACANCY -STATIC BAND 6 PHYSIOTHERAPIST- FRONT DOOR THERAPY We are looking for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist who has wide ranging clinical experience, good communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering high quality patient-centred care to join our Front Door Therapy team. As a senior band 6 physiotherapist you will provide and develop a high standard of physiotherapy services in the Frailty and Front door specialty. where you can build upon your clinical and managerial skills with support from the team lead. We provide and 8am till 8 pm service, 7 days a week. You will be required to work closely in an integrated manner with other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to promote independence, provide rapid assessments and facilitate safe, timely and appropriate discharges across within the Emergency departments, medical assessment units and any other admission unit within Pilgrim Hospital. You will contribute to the overall service development of the team and specialty, working with senior team members, professional leads, Head of Therapies and manage, supervise the development of staff members within the team. Main duties of the job To undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi pathologies; using acquired clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition. Formulate and deliver an individual physiotherapy treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills. To take delegated responsibility from the band 7 therapist for managing patients with complex conditions and be responsible for providing specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment plans for patients with these conditions. Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment. Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes if required. To manage clinical risk within own patient case load. To comply with the Trust Manual Handling Policy and local therapeutic handling guidance at all times. To deal sensitively with patients who have high levels of anxiety and aggression caused by pain, dementia or limited mobility. To be responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient treatment records in line with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) standards of practice. To be aware of departmental/hospital policies and procedures.
