Job Description
The 3-star, 39-bedroom Cottage Hotel in Hope Cove, South Devon is seeking to appoint an experienced Receptionist to join us at our independently owned hotel. You will be working in a welcoming, family-run, friendly and supportive environment with added employee benefits. You will be responsible for providing a friendly, hospitable, and efficient service to all hotel guests, in line with the hotel's vision and values on customer satisfaction. The main purposes of the hotel reception area's staff are to respond courteously to guests' requests and play a part in the general running of the reception desk. You will have a positive, can-do attitude to life.
Duties:
1. Welcome guests on their arrival using the guest's name and assist with their registration, ensuring all details of reservations are correct.
2. Check guests out, charge payment accordingly, and pass on any feedback to the General Manager.
3. Liaise effectively with other departments.
4. Aid and assist guests during their stay through effective use of social skills and pass on any comments to the relevant personnel.
5. Ensure full handover is passed on to the next shift.
6. Ensure correct procedures regarding all matters of security are observed.
7. Be aware of the importance of upselling to maximize room revenue.
8. Cover the front desk at all times as per rota.
9. Keep the front desk clean and tidy.
10. Assist with Food and Beverage service (when required) supporting colleagues at busy times.
11. Adhere to the company's policy statements and all related instructions.
12. Carry out any reasonable requests made by any member of the management.
Personal Specification:
1. Preferred - experience with PMS Guest line, Reslynx, and Resdiary.
2. Organized.
3. Positive attitude.
4. Willingness to learn.
5. Previous experience as a hotel receptionist required. Rezlynx experience a bonus.
6. Shift pattern rotating between morning and afternoon shifts.
