We are looking to appoint a practitioner (full and part-time vacancies available) to work within a hospital in the North East. The Trust specializes in mental health, learning disabilities, and community services. Serving the Merseyside and Cheshire regions, the trust operates a wide range of services, including inpatient care, community mental health support, and specialized services for complex conditions like secure and forensic mental health care.
Description:
Assessment and Diagnosis:
* Conduct comprehensive and systematic assessments of patients.
* Diagnose a wide range of health conditions based on clinical evaluation.
Management of Patient Care:
* Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.
* Prescribe medications and treatments within their scope of practice.
* Provide expert clinical advice and support to patients and their families.
Clinical Procedures:
* Perform advanced clinical procedures such as suturing, minor surgery, and interpreting diagnostic tests.
Health Promotion and Disease Prevention:
* Educate patients on health promotion and disease prevention.
* Provide lifestyle advice and support to improve patient outcomes.
Leadership and Management
Clinical Leadership:
* Lead and manage clinical teams.
* Act as a role model and mentor for other nursing staff.
Service Development:
* Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
Policy and Practice Development:
* Influence the development of policies and practices within the healthcare setting.
* Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in nursing practice.
Education and Research
Teaching and Mentorship:
* Educate and mentor nursing staff, students, and other healthcare professionals.
* Facilitate training and development programs.
Research and Evidence-Based Practice:
* Engage in research activities to contribute to the evidence base of nursing practice.
* Implement evidence-based practice in clinical settings to improve patient care.
Professional Development
* Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
* Keep abreast of advances in nursing practice and healthcare.
Professional Leadership:
* Represent nursing at various forums and committees.
* Advocate for the nursing profession and patient care at a local, regional, and national level.
Communication and Collaboration
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care.
Patient and Family Communication:
* Communicate effectively with patients and their families.

Requirements:
* Registered Nurse
* Master's award in Advanced Clinical Practice
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Knowledge of Clinical Governance and its application in practice
* Broad in-depth knowledge of all aspects of health issues encompassing childhood/adulthood
* Working knowledge of vulnerable adult and child protection procedures
* Experienced in palliative care, chronic disease management, and wound management
* Confident and competent in a wide range of clinical skills
