We are seeking to appoint a Head of Health and Social Care. This is a permanent, full time position starting on 26th August 2025. You must be committed to active and innovative teaching and learning and be passionate about Health and Social Care.
You will lead and teach in a well-resourced Health and Social Care department that provides an exciting environment to deliver outstanding teaching and learning. The department is teaching in fully refurbished Health and Social Care and Child Care classrooms. A significant proportion of our students go on to university with many electing to study related subjects, some of whom will go on to Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.
The courses currently delivered are the BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma and Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care and the Level 2 Extended Certificate in Health & Social Care. Since September 2024 the department is also offering the T-Level in Education and Early Years. The ability to teach this qualification would be an advantage.
This is a full time, permanent role. The salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges’ scale NJC scale 1 – 9 (£35,125 - £51,758) + Additional Responsibilities Allowance ranging from RAL1 £4,890- RAL3 £6,112 inclusive of Inner London Weighting. Cost of living award pending for 2024/25. Progression will increase by one scale point each year, subject to satisfactory appraisal outcomes, until scale 9 is reached.
