Job Description:
Fife Speech and Language Therapy Service has a Health Care Support Worker post available within our adult acquired team based at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline.
Under the supervision of registered Speech and Language Therapists, responsibilities include direct clinical work with adults experiencing communication difficulties due to conditions like cancer or stroke, involving contact with patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals.
You will also support Speech and Language Therapists in clinical delivery of the weekly Videofluoroscopy Clinic, liaising with the Radiology Service.
Additional duties involve administrative tasks such as preparing therapy resources, programming AAC systems, managing waiting lists, and administering area-wide clinics. Experience with eHealth systems would be advantageous.
Applicants should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, time management, and IT skills. Experience working with adults with communication difficulties in healthcare settings is highly desirable. An SVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification is required.
Teamwork experience and understanding of the importance of communication for social participation are essential.
You will join a dynamic service with a peer facilitation and supervision model, committed to staff wellbeing, supported by a small team at Queen Margaret Hospital.
