Working as a Treasury Analyst at Saga, you will be crucial in managing the financial health of our organisation by mitigating risks, safeguarding assets, and maximizing returns. This vital role is part of the fast-paced Treasury operation and serves as a key contact within a small, dynamic team.
Our Treasury department manages the Group’s cash, debt, currency, commodity hedges, and investment strategies. We operate as an enterprise function with internal stakeholders across the Group and external stakeholders including lenders and auditors.
We adopt a hybrid working model at Saga, combining remote work and office presence in Folkestone twice a week, with occasional meetings in London.
Role Responsibilities
You will provide high-quality, reliable Treasury services to colleagues mainly within Saga Finance and Group Professional Services, acting as a knowledgeable point of contact for Treasury-related issues. You will also serve as the primary contact for external Treasury partners, including banks, financial service providers, and auditors.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Adhering to our Business Code of Conduct with integrity and due diligence.
* Managing enterprise-wide cash balances daily to prevent overdrafts and investing surplus funds per policy, ensuring regulatory capital is ringfenced where necessary.
* Maintaining a rolling three-month liquidity forecast and providing regular updates on cash position and headroom to senior management.
* Assisting with process improvements and automation of daily cash management processes, collaborating with the finance transformation team.
* Handling FX settlements for Travel businesses, coordinating weekly requirements, and preparing monthly reports.
* Processing manual payments and coordinating authorization processes.
* Managing online banking and portal administration, including user and contact list maintenance.
* Owning bank mandates, coordinating changes with the Company Secretarial Team and banks, and maintaining a master database.
* Preparing monthly reports on cash, debt facilities, FX, interest, and forward rates, and supporting ad hoc market data requests.
* Serving as a key contact for banking and other partners, including managing KYC requests.
* Managing the Treasury inbox and responding promptly to queries.
* Supporting ad hoc projects and tasks as required.
The Ideal Candidate
* Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* A proactive approach with a sense of urgency, embodying the value “Make it happen”.
* Ability to work independently.
* High accuracy and self-review skills, especially when handling material transactions and foreign exchange trades.
* Ability to identify training needs and address knowledge gaps.
* Background in treasury, economics, or accounting.
* Knowledge of banking and payment mechanisms is beneficial.
* Experience in forecasting and variance analysis is advantageous.
