Purpose of the role:
Due to continued growth, Baxter & Co is recruiting for an Accounts Semi-Senior to join the Accounts department in Orpington. The role will involve working to deliver a broad range of accounts services to our business clients. This opportunity would suit a part-qualified individual who is looking to progress their career and study towards an ACCA or ACA qualification. Alternatively, the role would be suitable for an individual who is not studying but has a strong practice background.
Accountabilities:
With support, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, assisting with:
1. Preparation of year-end statutory accounts for a mix of Sole Traders, partnerships, LLPs, and Limited Companies
2. Preparation of basic corporation tax returns
3. Assisting with the review/preparation of VAT returns
4. Assisting clients with queries
5. Supporting the more junior members of the team in accounts & bookkeeping work
6. Collaboratively working with other departments within our group
7. Assisting Directors/managers with ad hoc projects
8. Additional responsibilities as and when identified in association with expectations of the role
Skills/Qualifications:
We are seeking a candidate that has:
* AAT qualified (optional)
* Certificate/foundation level of ACA/ACCA completed
* Proven 2 years+ practice experience
* Experienced individual who can prepare sole trader, partnership, and Limited Company accounts for Manager review
* Strong IT/Microsoft abilities
* A professional approach with the ability to communicate with clients both via email & over phone/face to face
* Possess a full driving licence with own/access to a car
* Familiar with CCH, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero (desirable)
