Job description:
We are looking to recruit Factory/Machine Shop/Production Operatives on a Permanent basis. This is suitable for candidates looking for a career opportunity within an established, family owned business.
In addition, we will consider an Apprentice level candidate with the desire to start a career in a manufacturing environment, and develop their skills through a formal apprenticeship.
The company:
We are a successful and expanding privately owned company based in Ossett, West Yorkshire. We design, develop and manufacture our own bespoke equipment for the retail sector, and have a large, blue-chip, customer base throughout the UK & Ireland. We have a passion for our chosen markets, with our mission statement 'Creating the Customer Experience'.
The roles:
We have 4 vacancies across our Factory/Machine Shop/Production departments. Roles vary from assisting in the operation of machinery, to assisting in other departments if required. Our staff are multi-skilled, able to work across disciplines and while you will be in a specific department, on a daily basis we move staff to address peaks in manufacturing and production.
Operating the forklift truck (if qualified).
Work on a variety of tasks across the factory, production departments and warehouse.
Recording tasks on our SAP system (training provided).
Immediate start.
Comply with Health & Safety regulations as stated in the Health & Safety handbook.
Experience & attributes required:
Ability to work on own initiative with or without supervision and cope under pressure.
Able to work on a variety of jobs including assisting on machines, helping other departments, and other tasks.
Desire to learn new skills and apply them where required.
Fork lift training preferred but not essential.
Able to progress and develop within the role to meet workload demands.
Experience of using warehouse management systems to record and track work tasks.
The candidate will be employed on a 39 hour week, 8.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am – 3.15pm Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. Overtime is available to meet production demands, and this is paid at time and a half.
