The role:
Watergate Bay Hotel is seeking a
talented Payroll Assistant to join our team. As a Payroll Assistant, you'll
play a crucial role in supporting our payroll department and ensuring the
smooth operation of our financial processes.
As a Payroll Assistant, you'll
input, process, and ensure safe storage of all payroll
data for both fortnightly (hourly) and monthly (salary) payroll files, you'll handle it
all with finesse and accuracy. You'll even get the chance to imput and share your valuable insights to drive
our business forward.
This is a part time vacancy Monday to Friday 9.00am-2.30pm
What your day could look like:
* Preparing payroll payments from the HR Timecards, absence information and any other
static information sent to payroll to add to each pay period.
* Adding the
information to be paid via the PDS Sheets within the HR system before
sending the information to our payroll processor who will produce the payroll
payments to team.
* In
conjunction with location managers, review, verify, and reconcile/assist
with all relevant exceptions and clocking’s on the time and attendance system. Make sure that all errors are cleared
for each pay period.
* Check
payroll reports for team payments being made and raise any queries or
concerns on errors. Also making
sure that final checks are done by management.
* Make sure
that payrolls are signed off and sent for finalisation in order for
payments to be raised.
* Create,
update, maintain, secure, and archive all employee payroll records/files.
* Prepare and
process all employee wages, deductions and other amendments into PDE
grids, or respective employee records.
* Work closely
with the Payroll Administrator to streamline payroll processes and
minimize all risks of errors.
* Act as second
point of contact with system specialists, chasing up prompt resolution of
any outstanding queries.
Job Skills & Requirements:
* Experience of working in Payroll.
* Experience of using accounting systems
(Sage preferred, but not essential).
* Organised and structured to ensure things
get done.
* Able to work well with other team members
and at times independently.
* Upbeat and positive attitude.
* Flexible and able to prioritise tasks to
achieve overall Company goals.
* Comfortable with working to deadlines
with a positive “can do”, positive attitude.
* Willing to suggest new ideas and always
looking for ways to improve the way we do things.
* Proficient Microsoft Excel user.
