Purpose of the Job To be a member of the student facing College education team working under the direction of a class Tutor to support the design and delivery of a personalised curriculum to individuals and whole groups. To support the Tutor in ensuring the collection of evidence for assessment and recording of learner progress. To lead the planned programme of student activities and provide PPA cover for the Tutor. To be involved in personal and physical care, including moving and handling, and will work to health and safety guidelines ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students. As agreed and subject to experience, to be part of the College Behaviour Response Team and work directly with the Behaviour Support Lead Main Duties To work as a member of the education team in the planning, preparation, delivery and recording of the educational programme of the students. To assist in the provision of the support necessary for students to make progress, to be safe and to function as effectively as possible. Under the direction of the class Tutor, to lead student activities on a regular and planned basis and in the short-term absence of the Tutor. To maintain records, to prepare reports and to attend student review meetings at the direction of the course leader or Tutors and in accordance with the procedures agreed within the College. To participate fully in meetings of the course team, in staff training and other activities at the direction of the course leader or Tutors. To contribute to the creation and maintenance of a stimulating and well-ordered environment for learning and teaching. To participate fully in the College s quality assurance processes and procedures. To perform such additional duties commensurate with the post of Co-Tutor as may be requested by a Tutor or Senior Manager.
