Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in neurodiversity affirming care, with experience in pediatrics and a community care setting. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping patients build the skills and implement the accommodations they need to participate in their daily activities and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct routines-based assessments of patients to determine their needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
2. Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being.
3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated patient care.
4. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and strategies for daily living activities.
5. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and outcomes in compliance with medical standards.
6. Stay updated on the latest developments in occupational therapy practices.
Qualifications
1. A valid Occupational Therapy license or certification as required by state regulations.
2. Experience in pediatrics or acute care settings is preferred but not mandatory.
3. A valid Ontario driver's license.
4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
5. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others achieve their goals.
6. Ability to manage multiple cases effectively while maintaining high standards of care.
