About The Role
Role: Waste HGV Driver
Location: Moss Side Depot, Leyland
Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent
Salary: £30,559 - £32,654
Closing Date: 1 April 2025
You will be responsible for the collection of a variety of waste streams collected by the council. You will deliver the councils services in a safe and efficient manner and uphold the council's standards and values.
What you’ll be getting up to
* On a day to day basis, undertake the collection of all waste recycling materials from domestic and trade properties, streets and open spaces within the Borough.
Who we’re looking for
* We are looking for someone who can provide excellent customer service by providing a waste collection service throughout the borough. You will be good at reading and understanding routes and ensuring all waste is collected in a safe and timely manner. You will have excellent attention to detail skills for completing routine daily vehicle checks, vehicle cleaning and reporting defects in accordance with procedures. You will be courteous in dealing with members of the public to ensure that any enquiries or conflicts are dealt with in a professional manner.
Other Requirements
* This role requires travelling around our boroughs.
* This role requires you to regularly use a vehicle therefore you must possess a valid UK Driving Licence.
* This role requires you to operate a HGV, therefore you must possess a valid HGV Class 2 Licence.
