About the role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Dog Grooming Technical Trainer role within our Animal Management team at our Merrist Wood College. Ideally this role will work in conjunction with our other casual hours vacancy (Dog Grooming Teacher). As a Technical Trainer you will be responsible for overseeing any commercial dog grooming clients, when courses are not being delivered, including performing the commercial grooming services, as well as managing cleaning and administrative tasks to maintain a professional and efficient environment. At present this is planned to involve 1 weekday and 1 weekend day (Saturday) working, though the day is flexible for the right candidate. What do you need to be successful? You will be enthusiastic and motivated and hold a Level 2 Dog Grooming qualification (or higher) or similar recognised qualification within the dog grooming field and a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience either in a Grooming Parlour or your own business. You will have a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards a recognised qualification. Ideally, you will have work experience within a Further Education environment. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with students at all levels to ensure you are maximising individual strengths to set them up for success.
