Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is a whānau-focused, Iwi mandated, kaupapa Māori health and social services organisation. We have been supporting our whānau me hapori to achieve their aspirations and general wellbeing for more than 39 years. Our Te Poutama Tautoko team, part of our Addictions and Mental Health Service, is focused on empowering individuals to develop the skills, knowledge, and strategies needed for transformative change.
The Role
We're seeking a passionate Addictions Practitioner to join our team, focused on empowering individuals with the skills and knowledge needed for transformative change. You will provide culturally responsive alcohol and drug assessment, treatment, and counselling, working closely with individuals and their whānau on their wellness journey.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting alcohol and drug assessments and creating personalised treatment plans
* Leading individual and group counselling sessions, workshops, and educationalprogrammes
* Facilitating group therapy in a safe, collaborative space
* Coordinating with community and government services for additional support
* Organising educational wananga on alcohol and drug abuse
* Supporting early intervention and cultural practices that promote wellness
Key Requirements:
* Registration with DAPAANZ or similar clinical body
* Experience delivering therapeutic interventions for addiction
* Proficiency in report writing and case management
* Experience working with whānau
