Position: Electrical Design Engineer
Contract: Permanent/Full Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm
Location: Hybrid (South Yorkshire-based reporting office)
Salary: Up to £52,000 per annum, DOE

Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality design solutions in commercial and industrial environments? This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join a growing design team on a wide range of projects from initial concept through to final handover.
Role Overview:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and technical development of new and existing projects. You’ll manage each project’s design stages, ensuring client design objectives are met across multiple disciplines including M&E, fabric, and specialized systems. Working collaboratively with project and site managers, you will deliver best practice and cost-effective solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the technical design development for projects, creating comprehensive drawing packages from initial concepts through to as-fitted drawings.
Ensure thorough documentation collation and organization to meet client design goals.
Support operational teams on live projects to maintain design quality standards.
Produce detailed electrical design documentation, including drawings and written specifications.
Collaborate with third-party professionals to manage design processes and handle pre-construction activities such as site surveys and schedule of requirements (SOR) documentation.
Provide technical guidance on electrical systems, including LV AC, with awareness of critical and mission-critical environments as needed.
Review third-party designs and cost submissions for accuracy.
Lead the compilation of tender submissions and contribute to commercial cost accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience:
Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems, with experience in CDM Projects within construction and building services.
Electrical qualifications to City & Guilds, HNC/HND level, with AutoCAD experience.
Familiarity with BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, C&G Design, Erection, and Verification (2396).
Ability to work effectively in technically challenging environments with sound analytical and organisational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and communicate with a range of professionals.
Valid UK Driving License (essential), with the flexibility for UK-wide travel and overnight stays if needed.
First Aid and CSCS certifications (beneficial but not essential).
