Whatyou’ll be doing:
Attending andreporting to Daily Stand Up Meetings (DSUM)
* Design activities including but not limited tosupporting rick reduction/ analysis andidenification
* Applying a systems engineering approach to safetyproducts including Working within a centralised modellingtool
* Working within a small safety teamenvironment
* Supporting Non-Safety experienced member of the widerteam to achieve desirable safety outcomes
* Supporting and preparing safety assessments as requiredto support system design and development
* Supporting the preparation of Design SafetyJustification supporting inputs
* Providing Safety SME to product design and gatereviews
* Supporting the development and maintenance of a healthyproduct Safety Culture within the team and widerbusiness
Yourskills and experiences:
Essential:
Familiarity withUK Defence Standard and publications such as Defence Standard00-56, Defence Standard 00-55, DSA-01, DSA-02
* Familiarity with safety analysis techniques such as:(FHA) (FTA) (ETA) (FMEA) (STPA)
* STEM degree (ideally with Product Safety experiencewithin a regulated industry)
* An understanding of the principles and requirements ofIEC 61508 and/or IEC 61511 for complex Software and Hardware SafetyInstrumented Systems.

TheSafety & Environmental Team:
As the Senior Engineer – Product Safety the primaryduties for this role will be heavily focussed on the safety duringthe product design process. You will undertake analysis and provideoutputs to the Principal Engineers where they can provideassistance to develop designs further.We offer relocation support packages acrossall Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibilitycriteria
